📍 Appalachian Mountains
Yet another National Parks adventure with Mitch (see Dunes, Mesa Verde/Black Canyon).
I was finishing up a summer at CSU's mountain campus when I got the familiar call and invite from Mitch. This time a road trip from Ohio to Philadelphia to bag Cuyahoga, New River Gorge, and Shenandoah National Parks. I had never been to this part of the country and wanted to see the mountains through West Virginia for quite some time, so it was an easy sell.
My homie Fisher from mountain campus had the time free so he tagged along. Good times with good people. The more I grow older the more I especially try to not take time like this for granted. I've spent so much time with both these dudes but like a lot of friendships, less and less as time goes on.

in hindsight, this was a bit ridiculous and dumb. Instead of paying for an Uber we walked for a mile by this train track to Dunkin Donuts to wait to be picked up. I wonder what Fisher was thinking because I know it was my idea. He's the best kind of agreeable and such a gentle soul.

lol guess who

do it

what a bridge it was

This one looks like a painting or something. Those trees aren't real.

not so impressive from far away

this is why you don't develop photos in company of cats

We chatted with this local family for a bit. They've come to this spot for sunsets for years. When they left someone commented about meeting a "real hillbilly" referencing the guy in the middle here and their response was "You sure did."
